Air navigation operations lab considers to be one of the most important ways that maintain the regularity of the movement of aircraft in the air or on the ground, avoid accidents and to organize trips. Navigation needs many devices on A/c, air traffic control tower and airports, where navigation is a loop of communication between the aircraft and airports.
The lab is interested in air navigation by definition of some important devices in navigation including; V.H.F –H.F Sat-com, A.D.F, V.O.R, G.P.S,D.M.E, I.L.S, marker circle, radio altimeter, radar test equipment ,public address, black box
Engines and propellers workshop
Engines are considered in all relevant aircraft as the primary source of thrust for different kinds of aircraft, their speeds, efficiency and the amount of thrust which is produced. Thrust workshop interests in engines and their operations, efficiency, and how to agree engines parts together during the operation of the aircraft, whether on the ground or in the air.
Design and systems workshop
Designing of aircraft parts is Different from A\c to other depending on the desired performance of the A\c, load job and the required altitude. A\c has different systems and certain functions that are conducive to stability of the aircraft and their adaptation to the surrounding environment these systems include hydraulic system, air-conditioning system etc. Workshop specializes in the design and systems study of the various aircraft parts and systems within the aircraft configuration.
Electronics lab handles the analogue electronics teaching experiences, digital electronics, and the basics of electrical engineering and services, air contact and air navigation devices.
None destructive testing(NDT) lab
This is the only lab of its kind in college .It provides services and training for all university departments , colleges and guests from outside the university .Also it offers services for project graduation (Bachelor and Diploma). Laboratory studies offers six methods they include ultrasonic, magnetic-particle, liquid penetrant, radiographic, remote visual inspection (RVI) and eddy-current testing.
